Hauturu, Little Barrier Island, is one of New Zealand’s most iconic and special places. We work alongside the Supporters Trust helping promote their work and the ongoing needs of the island’s environment and biodiversity. The logo honours the island’s resident tuatara – and the island itself. We did want to use the giant wetapunga but it really proved a bit much of a graphic challenge – and despite Rudd’s advocacy people often still react badly to weta. Tragically, the Trust’s long-time patron, Don Binney, died unexpectedly in late 2012. He was a generous supporter and passionate advocate for the island and well-being of its creatures. You too can join them, support them, get involved.
