Kea Conservation Trust

Kea are not just an iconic bird for New Zealanders, they are renowned internationally for their character and intelligence. In fact recent research suggests they are our Gondwanaland equivalent of the monkey – in the absence of higher order mammals, species here adapted to fill the gaps. No one who has seen a kea solving any problem can doubt their abilities – including their talents for demolition. We work with the Kea Conservation Trust to raise awareness of the substantial threats to their survival and the constant need to raise funds and support for kea conservation. Unfortunately they are not quite smart enough to do it on their own. Join them, support them, get involved.
