New Zealand Seabirds

New Zealand is a seabird hotspot, in fact the seabird ‘capital' of the world - we have more endemic species here than anywhere. And more threatened seabird species than anywhere. Important Bird Areas (IBAs) is an international initiative aimed at identifying and facilitating conservation of birds in each country, by establishing IBAs. This important report identifies seabird IBAs throughout New Zealand, and makes the case for action NOW. In a partnership between Forest & Bird, Birdlife International and Birds New Zealand, Chris Gaskin has prepared this stunning resource – an in-depth and comprehensive look at our seabirds and their situation.
